The world in all its’ glory
The perfect home to me
Is losing all its’ beauty
Amid this tragedy.
Why has it come to this?
The battle for everything…
We’ve closed our eyes to everything, that matters in this life
Believing we were way to good, for something pure.
The strength of people’s past, was that they recognized the vast
Amount of wealth inside, the innocence of good.
Oh how the world it spins in circles
It changes everything
The little things in life that matter
Routinely can’t be seen.
The truth that hurts the most, is that we’ve had our second dose
Of this and no one has stepped up to take the lead.
Our reputation faltering, and so begins the altering
This slate that at one time, had been so clean.
These red and yellow lights, they shine so bright
Just close your eyes, and still you’ll see your dreams inside
Of everything you’ve ever wanted in this life
And it’s so sad to know that most these dreams
You’ve had to compromise.
I know it’s not that easy, not as simple as it seems
When you’re staring down the barrel
Of a gun that no one sees.
This battle we are facing, is as big as we have seen
Naively looking up, into the eyes of everything
Oh, how the world it spins in circles
